  1. Up before the alarm.

  2. I can’t remember where I put the elf.

  3. Nettles instead of coffee.

  4. Morning pages and I still feel scattered.

  5. I think we did good.

  6. There are worse views when stuck in traffic.

  7. Driveway covered in a blanket of golden-brown oak leaves. Green things popping up through the mulch.

  8. Mindset.

  9. A lack of focus and energy, but maybe tomorrow will be different. I tell them to watch basketball tonight. To dream about lay-ups and free throws and good defense.

  10. Probably shouldn’t have done that, even though I needed to.
