Ten.One Thousand, Two Hundred & Thirty-Four

1. Toothache. Must be clenching.

2. So dark. So quiet. He’s up so soon.

3. So good to see her face and hear her voice. And the kids. And her house. I miss being in her home.

4. I really do live in a beautiful place.

5. My mind wanders: vineyards and blue sky and mountains and closed parks and trees turned black and white from fire.

6. The tree is crooked.

7. There is more work I should be doing but I can’t seem to bring myself to do it.

8. The walk to the mailbox smells like wet redwood.
