Ten.One Thousand, Five Hundred & Eighty-Two

  1. I try to find my nose ring with my eyes closed.

  2. Hashbrowns with coffee.

  3. Why can’t I find the right envelopes?

  4. Where is everyone?

  5. I worry that I accidentally topped the wrong barrels but I double-check the list and remember that I only did the ones with the upturned bungs and that means that I should have done everything right. But did I?

  6. Window screens.

  7. I sit on the asphalt and stare out over the vineyard. Gold and green and pops of red. Bright light. Gratitude. “Moana” soundtrack in the background.

  8. Champagne and Model Bakery.

  9. I realize I need two things this season: pants with pockets to keep me from gesturing and gum to keep me from yelling.

  10. Why are there already wreaths on the lampposts? The flags from Veteran’s Day are still up.
